Controversial pop star Lady GaGa is close to becoming the most followed person on Twitter.
The Paparazzi singer is poised to best Britney Spears as the most popular Tweeter as Gaga has accrued around 600,000 new followers this month and is rapidly closing in on Britney, according to social-media website FameCount.
Lady GaGa’s online popularity appears to know no bounds as she became the first person to claim ten million fans on Facebook last month beating President Obama in the process.
Twitter followers of Lady GaGa are called ‘little monsters’ in reference to the singer’s second album The Fame Monster and are treated to such insights as:
“Just emerged from studio bender to hear we won two teen choice awards. Thank you for believing in me little monsters! I’m your hooker. X”
