Yep – I said it. I am Village Bicycle. Quite a confession I think you will agree. Well I’m afraid this week we have a been the Village Bicycle here at our London Web Design offices, and I’m afraid it’s not what your think…

This week has already seen the launch of our latest Magento Eccommerce site for the cutting edge London Boutique and lifestyle store “The Village Bicycle” – a entirely fashion-focused boutique and website based in Central London “designed to encapsulate the energy and vibrant creativity from London and around The World. The lifestyle boutique sells a wide range of products from Women’s Wear Apparel (including Lingerie, Shoes and Accessories) to Art, Furniture and Music.”

They came to PureBlue looking for a clean and edgy design that really bought the spirit of their Portobello shop to life online, they are pretty thrilled with the results, which you can now view on www.imavillagebicycle.com.

Keep and eye out for it as the PR kicks in now and the Village Bicycle website is due to appear in the pages of Vogue and Grazia in the non to distant future. I wonder if we will get a mention!

The next stage is the mobile website and sage integration – oh the fun we have!

PureBlue are delighted to announce that our brave Barny has completed his Movember challenge with quite wonderful whiskers.

move Barnys Tash Is The Toast Movember

Our chief technical officer decided to discard his razor and join the fraternity of Mo Bros taking part in the month of Movember, a national charity campaign where men are invited to grow a moustache in order to raise money for male cancers.

It was an interesting experience witnessing Barny’s slow transformation from Hercule Poirot into Magnum P.I. however, it was highly worthwhile as many generous donations to his Movember page helped raise a considerable amount of cash.

Sprouting facial fuzz might seem like a spot of fun but by acting as a walking, talking billboard during Movember, Barny’s marvellous moustache has helped promote the often ignored issue of male health.

He said: “I decided to raise money for prostrate cancer because like all men it is a fear of mine. Women really do create a lot of press about breast cancer and we should learn from them and help men find the courage to talk about cancer more openly.”

“It is also great fun and has created many jokes in the local pub and at work I love the fact that Movember is so much more than just a charity and that it creates happiness as we raise valuable funds for this terrible disease.”

He might have been the butt of office jokes but Barny’s tremendous ‘tashe has put the rest of the PureBlue boys to shame and he has become an internet sensation on our Facebook page and blog.

After a decade of working on cutting-edge programmes such as such as “Faking It” and “The Restaurant”, Andrea decided to launch Shoot It Yourself, a wedding video company which allowed friends and family to film the bride and groom’s big day.

SIY The Shoot It Yourself Story

The Shoot It concept was a breath of fresh air in the wedding industry because rather than the traditional offerings, couples now had the choice of an up close and personal video filmed by their friends but edited by experts.

Andrea came to PureBlue in 2009 because she needed a fresh and easy to navigate website which reinforced the fun and engaging values that are at the core of the Shoot It brand.

The business was a success and showed definite potential for expanding on existing services and into new product areas which is why Andrea and business partner Becs decided to enter the lair of prime time television programme Dragons’ Den.

Once we realised they would be appearing on the hit BBC reality show, the web design London team at PureBlue worked around the clock to ensure that the latest of their site went live in time for the episode.

Andrea and Becs were the headline act and delivered such a confident pitch about the potential of their wedding video business that new Dragon Hilary Devey was compelled to invest.

After the programme ended 5,000 unique users accessed their server every second but thanks to our hard work there were no crashes and everyone who tried, managed to visit their site without a problem.

Andrea and Becs are now working closely with Hilary to expand the Shoot It brand and business and PureBlue have been charged with creating a new web design concept that better reflects their growing reputation.

We wish them the very best of success in working with the fearsome Hilary and we hope to be an integral part of their story for many years to come.
