Google has announced that it will reinstate the ability to block websites from it’s search results after the feature disappeared last week.
The introduction of Search Plus Your World, which enables Plus users and those signed into Google to view personalised search information, has currently removed the blocking functionality.
Blocking allowed users to drop future search results from specific websites if they were not relevant so when the feature was launched PureBlue were able to type web design London into Google and we handily appeared at number one.
Google told Search Engine Land that blocking will be restored once Search Plus Your World has been effectively rolled out but this may take sometime so unfortunately users cannot expect the function to return anytime soon.
The search engine giant is typically cagey about revealing news about it’s future updates so it is just a case of playing the waiting game in the hope that Google will bring back the feature as soon as possible.
