England Cricketers Banned from Twitter

Social networking sites can be a great way to improve your online presence but be careful to think before you Tweet.

The England Cricket Board has banned the national team from using Twitter after they felt the website was distracting them from their sporting duties, reported the Daily Mail.

Graeme Swann, James Anderson, Kevin Pietersen and Steven Finn have all amassed huge followings on Twitter but will now be forbidden from tweeting in a bid to prevent the publishing of confidential or controversial messages.

This move follows in the footsteps of the FA who prohibited England’s footballers from using social networking sites during this summer’s World Cup, however, that seemed to have little impact as Capello’s men crashed out in the second round.

Facebook fans will already know that a movie based on the birth of the site will be hitting our screens this autumn starring the acting talents of Justin Timberlake but it has also been reported that a movie will be made about the creation of Google.
